The most urgent dental emergencies are any condition that requires immediate attention to relieve severe pain, stop bleeding, or prevent permanent damage to your gums or teeth. This may include severe toothaches, knocked-out teeth, broken teeth, dental abscesses, or injuries to the mouth or jaw. Other emergencies like lost or broken restorations or appliances may be important to be seen to, so as to prevent further damage. If you are unsure if your situation counts as a dental emergency, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
If you are experiencing a dental emergency, please call us immediately on 01743 352702 and we will make every effort to see you as soon as possible.

Please call the practice on 01743 352702 as soon as possible and one of our dentists may be able to save your tooth. If you have the tooth, store it in a glass of milk or hold it in between your cheek and gum while you wait to be seen (this is not advisable for children as they may risk swallowing it).
Many people suffer with dental pain at night time. A lot of the time the pain makes it unbearable to sleep. A lot of pain at night time is due to the position of you lying down, blood rushing to the head and the pain or swelling inside the tooth increasing.
We aim to complete your treatment pain free, sometimes this will require local anaesthetic but not always.
There is an initial emergency consultation fee of £39. X-rays may also be required (£15 per x-ray).
Once your dentist has performed the assessment of your dental emergency they will discuss the treatment required and if any additional costs apply before treatment starts.
After diagnosis and discussion of your dental emergency, your dentist at Greyfriars Dental will detail the treatment options available. If you are happy to proceed, we will provide a treatment plan detailing the total cost and payment will be taken before completion of the treatment.
Current patients will have access to dental emergency cover over weekends. Please call us on 01743 352702 to obtain further information.
