DENTAL VENEERS

Veneers deliver a natural finish with long-lasting results.

What are veneers and how do they work?

Veneers are thin covers for teeth’s front surfaces that are constructed of porcelain or composite resin and are created to order. They can cover up all sorts of imperfections, from misshapen or inconsistently sized teeth to chips, cracks, stains, and abnormal gaps that are stopping you from getting that all-important uniform aesthetic.

How long do veneers last?

Porcelain veneers generally last 10 to 15 years with good oral hygiene and care. Factors like brushing, flossing, and avoiding sugary foods can impact their durability. Regular check-ups with your dentist at Greyfriars Dental Practice and cleanings help prolong their lifespan. Over time, veneers may need to be replaced or repaired to ensure they still look and work well.

Are veneers the best option for my teeth?

Veneers can significantly improve the look of your smile by hiding flaws and giving your smile a brighter, more even appearance. They are durable, resist stains, and mimic the natural look of your teeth. However, before deciding if veneers are right for you, it’s important to think about things like how much they cost, how much time and effort you’ll need to put into taking care of them, and the fact that once you get them, your natural teeth will be changed forever

Can veneers discolour over time?

Porcelain veneers are highly resistant to staining or discolouration compared to composite veneers, which may be prone to slight discolouration over time. Avoiding staining substances such as tobacco, coffee, and red wine, and maintaining good oral hygiene can help prevent staining.
